How this design came about.
I met Kt through Merlyn my PDC tutor. He had a group called South London Permaculture and we met at Devonshire Road Nature Reserve for an AGM possibility in Winter 2007.
I 'd just enrolled on Diploma and was looking for opportunities to design. Kt had also completed a PDC a while before then, was keen on Permaculture, and kindly allowed me to cut my designing teeth on her garden.
The notes are mainly self explanatory.

Evaluation of this design using PMI
Well it was my first ever! (Jan 2008).
Plus
I have some good planting suggestions and have included stacking and multifunctionality.
I was aware of the principles at the time and they are brought out in the design:
Point 1, I suggest creating a vertical space for a variety of climbers, so applying Stacking.
Point 2, I suggest the 3 sisters, applying Create beneficial relationships.
Point 3, I suggest a dwarf fruit tree (start of a mini forest garden?)Design from patterns to details
Point 4, I aim to Obtain a Yield all year round by successional sowing, seed balls, cut and come again with perennial herbs.
Point 5, I have included a pond for slug controlling frogs to live in - the problem is the solution.
In point 6, I have applied Work with nature by suggesting fruit bushes in the shade.
In point 7, I have applied Least effort, maximium effect by suggesting seed balls and Produce no Waste by suggesting leaf fall and compost for Herb Spiral.
In point 8, I have applied Catch and Store energy.
Minus
I didn't use a framework and that has influenced the outcome. This could be a 'wild design', chucking a load of ideas out without really getting a thorough sense of the garden.
No costings or suggestions on how to make the bed borders.
Survey and map could have been a bit more precise, Kt told me I'd drawn the patio semi circle the wrong way round!
I didn't ask Kt if she wanted a pond or a herb spiral! Though the main aim was to get some suggestions for her to work on.
Interesting
I have included Herb Spiral, 3 sisters because at the time I probably thought they were standard Permaculture fayre!
I 'am strongly influenced by Fukuoka and his seed balls, see point 4!
